Pros

The coffee machine is pretty good

Cons

Massive turnover within the HSE department due to permanent HSE Advisors being paid well below industry standard rates. Experienced advisors continue to leave, while the company brings in agency HSE personnel on much higher pay to fill seats and meet KPIs. A major issue is that many of the agency advisors brought onto site lack project knowledge, site experience and understanding of the work fronts. A lot appear to have little interest in supporting crews or supervisors in the field, spending most of their time in offices rather than actively engaging with safety on the ground. This places huge pressure on the remaining permanent HSE Advisors, who are heavily relied on by management, supervisors and crews for their knowledge and support. Confidence in the HSE team across site has dropped significantly, with many workers and supervisors feeling unsupported and lacking trust in the overall capability, consistency and field presence of the department.

Pros

Good hands on project experience for the resume

Cons

Pay is well below industry standard. Permanent HSE Advisors over worked as Agency HSE Advisors do not want to get involved in site safety, incidents or general safety works. High turnover rate in the HSE department as full time advisors have all mostly walked out.
