Pros

Taking care of low income patients who appreciate it.

Cons

You will never get the bonus they touted during your interview. Work/life balance. Only concerned about money despite is said when you are hired. They make it sound like Disney World but it’s a Carnival. High turnover. Low pay. Lots of gossip. Human Resources, upper managers. They hire staff who leave fairly quickly when people are rude to them or they won’t accommodate changes in the employees schedule. Get patients in and out, they don’t care if the providers take care of the patient. No raises for years. They play favorites. Terrible orientation. Practice managers will yell at the staff, management is aware and keeps the practice manager in a job.

Pros

Overall, the organization can offer opportunities to gain experience, but those positives are overshadowed by ongoing leadership and cultural issues.

Cons

Work-life balance is largely nonexistent. After-hours calls and emails are extremely common, including holidays and late evenings, and employees are often expected to remain available well beyond normal working hours. Respect for personal time is minimal. Professionalism from some leadership is also a concern. It is not unusual to hear colleagues spoken about loudly and disrespectfully, which contributes to a negative and uncomfortable work environment. Accountability is inconsistent. Expectations appear to apply to some employees but not others, and certain individuals seem to operate without meaningful oversight. This has contributed to noticeable turnover, as many employees have chosen to leave rather than continue working in that environment.
