Pros

The mission-driven nature of Preserve is present in every aspect of how the company operates. The leadership team is the kindest and most supportive that I have ever experienced in a professional setting. You truly become part of the Preserve family once you work there. The work-life balance is incredible; management supports and encourages you to have the time and energy to do the things you care about outside of work. Given the lean size of the company, you get exposure into many different aspects of the business, and often have the freedom to explore projects that you are personally interested in - something that is very unusual in a large, or even medium-sized company. If you like to roll up your sleeves and touch many projects, while knowing you're working for a pioneer in the field of sustainable business/social entrepreneurship, Preserve is a perfect fit.

Cons

Since Preserve is such a small company, there is limited structure and resources available to employees. Everyone, regardless of his or her role, wears many hats and so it can be difficult to remain focused on a project before getting pulled onto something else, making it challenging to prioritize and to feel like you're making progress on a specific project. The office is also very quiet and not the most dynamic environment, with many employees being part-time and the desks being spread out in a space that is not an open floor plan. If you're not willing or able to be scrappy and/or self-motivated, Preserve may not be the best fit for you.
