Pros

It is better than being homeless.

Cons

Mike almost certainly posted the one positive review here. He thinks this sort of thing is clever. If you are ever so hard up for a job as to work for him, you will figure this out quickly. He boasts about how he cheats his clients, how he stole from Honeywell, and you can bet that to other people, he will boast about how much money he makes while you work your butt off. I honestly debated for a while about writing this, I'm not a vengeful person nor do I like to see anyone struggle or fail, but I have an honest concern about people who would get into abusive situations. If you are an IT veteran, you will certainly have many better opportunities. If you are new to the field, you can get better experience at a chain tech place. Don't look at the price tag, Mike will find a way to pull it out of you. If you think X company pays Y$/hr and see a posting from Prefix, you'll think you'll make more than that...no, 80 hour weeks will add up to less than minimum wage and Mike will brag about it. Also, his health insurance policy is "buy your own on the ACA" and he will reimburse you for 50%...miles reimbursement is a joke too, he will nickel and dime you the same way he does his clients.

Pros

Small team, family culture. Mike, Sally, & Nik are good people and have your back to the best of their ability when something happens outside of your control. (In my experience, medical issues) Sally always makes you feel like part of something more, especially when it is your birthday or your start date anniversary. She does her best to make us feel like we are more than a number. Mike always compliments a job well done and thanks us everyday for the hard work. On the flip side, he doesn't belittle you if you make a mistake but he does expect the mistake to be fixed to the best of your ability. Nik (supervisor) does a great job at keeping everything on track and working with you to make sure we all keep up with our responsibilities. He will help whenever he can and point you in the right direction if he cannot. Overall, working at a smaller MSP has been rewarding in both knowledge and experience and I don't think I could of found better people to work with.

Cons

Lack of full benefit package. At peak times, it can be stressful but what job isn't (Especially in IT). The learning curve when first starting out with multiple clients, devices, software, and needs. It can feel overwhelming at first but after awhile it becomes second nature.
