Pros

Can learn many aspects of the business in a short time. Good teammates.

Cons

Lack of strategy at the executive level. Bloated management… too many chiefs. Poor quality control at all levels. Favorites are hired and promoted based on nepotism / friends not merit. Rare formal performance reviews. No budgets for departments. Spending is out of control. Lack of focus… trying to be too many things to too many customer types.

Pros

Very friendly people. Good family values. Christian but not pushy. Activities and events to be kind. Hard working, but not overly strict. Tuition reimbursement (usable but not great).

Cons

Low pay for high cost of living area. This area merits higher pay. Very few engineering firms pay decently in this area so it’s not just Preferred. Unless you have a strong reason to live here, I would avoid taking a job at this company or area in general. If you plan on staying less than 5 years, don’t apply. Most benefits take multiple years to kick in (6 year 401k vesting etc). You also get very few days off a year unless you have many years experience.
