Pros
Praxis has been a really fantastic company to work for. I have been here for five years. The company is owned and managed by a few guys who started it a bunch of years ago and even though the company is over 250 people, it still feels small and the owners are accessible to the staff. The culture is geared towards customer and employee success, as reflected in a set of core values. I have seen the company make decisions in the best interest of customers and employees while taking a financial hit to do so. Praxis has always maintained a long-term view in the market. Instead of trying to squeeze every bit of profit out of a dollar, the owners have always taken the view that they should see how much they can provide in value for that dollar to their customers and employees. With dozens of contracts in the DoD, Praxis has a lot of options for engineers in terms of interesting/challenging roles on the latest technologies. Most positions are software-focused across a wide range of domains.
Cons
Most positions will require a Government security clearance and Praxis isn't usually able to hire uncleared staff and help them obtain their clearances. You typically already have to have a clearance to get a job here. Some larger companies in the industry will have more options as far as open positions available at any given time. While Praxis is a larger mid-size company, it competes with companies with 10,000+ employees.
