Pros

Understanding management, great people, decent benefits and competitive pay are the reasons that I still wish to be with the company. Unfortunately the large DoD contract that I was on, the company had lost... With that being said, after my separation from the company, they helped me get interviews for other jobs and had helped me re-write and sell my resume to key bidders for great opportunities. During my time with Powertek, I met several very nice people, and management from several different backgrounds. I also was given growth opportunities when I requested, not when the thought that I was ready (like most other companies.) I was given on spot bonuses and "Thank You" cards to shoe appreciation for my hard work, and was taken out to a very elegant dinner by the President of the company.

Cons

I did see a lack f communication between managers and employees.

Pros

Fellow coworkers on the contract were friendly and reasonable people. Insurance options for vision and dental were appreciated.

Cons

Powertek failed to send my resignation email to HR with a months advance notice. I informed them of my intent to take my last week of PTO in the email, which they acknowledged. Thursday, the week before my last week, they informed me that HR has given a mandate that I cannot take the last week, and they moved my end date to Friday the next day. They refused to allow me to donate my excess PTO which was set to be used for the next week, and refused to give me a copy of the employee handbook on request, since they ended access to the company intranet. They will adhere to their legal obligations, but will otherwise try to avoid working with you when they stand to benefit. Such as to avoid paying out over 40 hours of PTO.
