Pros
They are extremely empowering. I worked with the CTO, and he was super engaging and willing to give me freedom that I may not have been given at other places I have worked. The wide variety of projects was very engaging, as I was always learning something new. I gained experience in things like the most recent software and UI design, all the way down to bit-wise operations and serial communications. It was awesome. Not to mention, Getting to work with some major companies like Microsoft, Daimler, Audi etc. These projects are bleeding edge, and super exciting. The people are (mostly) all super fun, and light-hearted. Even when things are under the pressure of a major deadline, or things are breaking/ falling apart, it is still a light and fun environment. The leadership has been making great efforts to make working here fun. I was planning to be here for a long time. and if my life circumstances change, I will be first in line to come back and work here again.
Cons
no big ones. :) it still feels like a small business, albeit a well established one, so the processes and procedures are a little more fluid and flexible than at a larger company. (could be a pro and a con I guess.) The average age of the employees is higher, so it is different to work with them than a bunch of younger software developers.
