Pros

Administration is very understanding of having a family and a job. They are very understanding about things like needing to take time for your family.

Cons

The most difficult part of the position is the parents of the students. Even tho Potential Development is a school, it often feels like a daycare. I currently work with the kindergarten class. That age does not have as many behaviors as the older students. However, there are many days that I don't feel like I make a difference at all.

Pros

Health insurance Pto Helping children Paid holidays and breaks off If you have a degree I was told it's easy to become a teacher.

Cons

No training on what your doing, your just thrown in a room and expected to know what to do. Worried because teacher and other aides do holds on children when they have behaviors, but you can get in trouble for doing it a certain way, but your not trained how to do it. Being bitten, kicked, punched, shoved, items thrown at during behaviors. Told there are 5 kids in a room, you get in there and there's 8 kids. When one child has a behavior it escalated others to join. Too much for 2 aides to handle. Lack of communication in what's expected and needed. Scared everyday working there Having to run after kids that were fast when they eloped (called runners) I wasn't in shape for this job. Great job if your going into police or security/detention center job because it's all behaviors.
