I'm going to disagree with this review respectfully, and here's why:
1. Instapage has promoted 14% of the company in the past year alone and given raises to 53% of our employees.
2. Due to our fast growth, 80% of our employees were hired in only the past 24 months, and it seems unreasonable to expect that there is an immediate upward trajectory for every position, every year.
3. You cannot have both a top-down and flat org structure simultaneously.
4. Our priorities are created with considerable input from our employees, and we welcome new ideas at any time, from product to customer success. Our leadership always solicits questions, feedback, and data to help guide decision making.
5. Good ideas are likely absorbed into larger ones as that's what teamwork looks like. You are correct that we don't take one person's view and move it forward without the team having a chance to add to it.
6. We do not give credit for other people's ideas and frequently praise individual contributions. If you saw a particular issue or didn't feel appreciated enough, our management was never made aware.
7. I don't know why you would have pandering as both a pro and a con. However, we absolutely do not reward pandering. We reward hard work, taking personal ownership, teamwork, and informed decision making.
Finally, we do not have an "exodus" and have a turnover rate of only 7% in the past 30 months. It is not just ordinary for an early-stage startup to see a handful of early employees leave as the company matures. Every one of the few employees who have recently moved on did so because they were recruited by companies like Google, Uber, Infusionsoft, etc. or had a personal issue to deal with.
Since one of our core values is to "Improve Lives," I'm happy for those who are now working at great companies like these. It also goes to show that Instapage is both hiring great people and growing successfully enough to attract tier 1 recruiters to our talent pool.
I do regret that you found Instapage a poor fit for you individually. However, I wish you the best of luck throughout your career moving forward.
Thank you.
