Pros

After several employees quit, including myself, they increased the pay from $11.50 to $13.00.

Cons

There are nine Postal Annex locations in the San Diego area owned by a particular family. The trio not only overcharges their customers but they overwork employees as well. They list job postings online promising $16.00 hourly. When you land an interview they'll tell you about the requirement to become a notary. It sounds great at first because you get a bonus for each notary you do. However, once you begin working you'll realize that you aren't going to be able to take the course to become a notary public until at least three months in. After you complete the course you still have to wait an additional two to three months minimum to receive your certificate and begin notarizing documents. So for a minimum of six months you're making $11.50 hourly. You're taught to lie to customers and start them out with the most expensive prices. That way when you decrease the price, by very little might I add. The customer is forced to go with an over priced option. They are so desperate for employees right now. They have an extremely high turn around! Some stores have been ran by one person SIX DAYS A WEEK for at least two months now. With that being said those individuals do not get a lunch break or any break for that matter. That's definitely illegal but all the Collo family cares about is making money. They do not offer any befits nor are they flexible. They lack communication skills and professionalism. If any of the owners tell you they'll meet you at 10:00 a.m. expect to see them around 12:30 p.m. If you have any prior commitments you need to handle once you're hired forget about it. They will not allow you to have a day off without at least two months notice. Although there's no set schedule in place. Also there's a chance you will not be paid on time. Their customers are haneous as well. They will disrespect you if you allow them. This position can only super high school students. But I wouldn't ever recommend they apply here. The locations they own are as followed: 7688 El Camino Real Ste 104, Carlsbad, CA 92009 6549 Mission Gorge Rd, San Diego, CA 92120 4203 Genesee Ave Ste 103, San Diego, CA 92117 2588 El Camino Real Ste F, Carlsbad, CA 92008 2683 Via De La Vale Ste G, Delmar, CA 92014 1501 San Elijo Rd South Ste 104, San Marcos, CA 92078 140 Encinitas Blvd, Encinitas, CA 92024 3451 Via Montebello Unit 192, Carlsbad, CA 92009 3268 Governor Dr, San Diego, CA 92112

Pros

Very easy work - all the data entry side of managing mailboxes is simple and self explanatory, as is the POS and Shipping systems (postal and cashmate) Slow days, plenty of time to catch up on your book backlog when store chores are done.

Cons

Low pay, no benefits for full-time, managers that are somehow both micromanagers and absent/indifferent. Awful, entitled customers. Poor quality of training.
