Meet great people. Nice to see positive change in individuals.

Overworked. Small salary. Could be overwhelming if an individual is not doing well or is in crisis.

Portage serves a great cause. Good insurances. Generally friendly people.

Management is stuck in the 80s, if not earlier. A lot of nonsense and waste is tolerated when it comes to project management. Incompetency is regularly rewarded. No robust employee evaluation and file management. No proper oversight, even though there are numerous active committees. High employee turnover, which doesn't seem to bother them that much. A few employees who really work hard and successfully do not get the recognition they deserve.
