Pros

Interview process seemed fairly straightforward with only one initial video meeting with the founder of the company and the 2nd interview would have been with HR.

Cons

The initial interview went well, was told there might be next steps, interviewer asked when I would be available, what my compensation expectations are, and that I would be a great fit for the company based on my experience. However, after following up twice a week later, I received no response from the recruiter or founder or any updates after stating I would like to be updated about the role. So basically, they ghosted after doing my due diligence of communicating my interest/excitement about the role, which is a shame, but glad I seemed to have dodged a red flag of a company. Would not work here.

Pros

Remote work is the only pro I can think of.

Cons

I had a disappointing experience with this company. The hiring process was challenging, and there were instances where communication was lacking, requiring me to reach out to the CEO through various means like email and LinkedIn to get a response. Additionally, the initial offer was 20% less than what I had discussed during interviews, and the promised pay bump after 90 days turned out to be a pay restriction for the first 90 days. Onboarding was a struggle as well, and it felt like there wasn't sufficient support provided. Employees were required to use their personal machines and remain logged into Google Meet throughout the entire workday (from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM EST), with the expectation of responding promptly to all communications. As a developer, I faced unrealistic deadlines that made it challenging to deliver high-quality work. For instance, I was asked to build an entire custom e-commerce website in just two weeks with no assistance. This put immense pressure on me, impacting both the quality of the project and my overall well-being. Considering my experience, I would advise potential candidates to carefully evaluate whether this company aligns with their career goals and work preferences. While the option for remote work might sound appealing, it came with a sense of constant monitoring and excessive scrutiny. I hope the company takes these points into account and works towards creating a more supportive and conducive work environment for its employees.
