Pros

Fully paid health insurance, paid vacation, free lunch on the company, opportunity to travel to markets, paid week off for Christmas, helpful coworkers

Cons

I cannot stress this enough: Do Not Work Here. For over two years, I was harassed, disrespected, undermined and publicly humiliated by the owner of the company. She did this to every employee that I worked with at the time, so I was no different. The employees struggle daily with keeping the office environment positive and professional, only to be berated at random for things they were asked to do only hours before. The owner of the company has openly talked about things that leave many employees feeling uncomfortable and worried about their futures. She will often bully other women in the work place and look for others to agree with her. The authenticity of the company's identity and designs are egregious. The owner's care-free approach to stretching laws to fit the company's shortcomings and termination of employees has everyone on edge. Her activeness within the company is flighty and unpredictable, so employees feel as though they never know when to work on a project, how she'll respond to it, and if she'll change her mind about even doing it. Interviewing is awkward and all positions there are stretched to incorporate every duty in every facet of the company. You must be able to predict what she wants and ready to be attacked for anything you believe differently. While I worked there, more people had quit to find other work in order to leave the toxic work environment than there were positions at the company. Also, it is nearly impossible to work with outside vendors or professionals with any scheduled photoshoots, meetings or projects, as the owner will immediately change what she wants, causing a lot of broken bridges with like-minded professionals. I would love to give Pomegranate a 0 in stars, but that is not an option.

Over the past 4 months we have undergone an extensive review of all of our employees, and their qualifications for positions for which they were hired. We found four employees who falsified their Linkedin profiles and resumés with elevated job titles, skillsets, and references. I should add that they were all friends who brought each other on board to this company. They were subsequently fired over the course of the few months as we replaced them with qualified candidates. These negative reviews are clearly from the employees that have been fired with cause over the course of this year following thorough and active reviews.

Pros

Beautiful product. Nice office with young, inexperienced people. Small staff, probably 6-10 people (very understaffed).

Cons

Although in business for 25+ years, make no mistake about it; Pomegranate, Inc. is nothing more than an extremely wealthy woman's hobby. Based out of Lexington KY, owner Angela Beck is married to a wealthy stallion breeder (Gainesway Farms) and this is her outlet to verbally abuse her employees and make them do her little dance. She puppeteers the team to make them do complicated projects that are completely ineffective, costing money and customer distrust. I've never seen such shocking management/ownership. If the toxic behavior is not visible to new employees yet, it will come out soon enough. This is why the turnover is incredibly high.
