Coder II - Coder II Polyclinic Employee Review

In the business office, the staff is way overworked. As far as coders go, I was responsible for over 50 providers. This included quarterly audits, education, denials, updating fee tickets & appeals. There is very little training, which makes education very challenging. There is no claims scrubber, which is very had to believe for a company this size. The providers are 100 percent responsible for their coding and let's face it, providers are more interested in treating the patients than coding correctly. This accounts for a lot of unnecessary denials which creates longer A/R days and more work for everyone in the business office.
