Advancement to management very difficult. Very top heavy organization. Benefits are getting worse each year, as well as salary, compared to private sector, due to political climate in MN (which is similar to rest of US). Working for the government used to be a great job, but today government employees are treated as the scum of the earth. Difficult to stay positive as an employee who works very hard for a living doing good things for the environment.
