Pros

I love the atmosphere and the people at Pointman. I was working in hospitality for a most of my career with very little actual sales experience. I am so glad I moved to this company. The owners really care about their employees and are available all the time. Each of the managers is dedicated to the success of the company and want to help everyone in doing their part to get there. Free coffee, snacks, the occasional beer or cocktail, team building, regular trainings, adequate resources to be successful, a comfortable office, working from home is possible from time to time, great benefits, professional yet fun (work hard, play hard), team lunches evert week - all pretty awesome stuff. Everyone is happy to work here and wants to continue doing so. And they are growing, so if you're looking for a great company that believes in a good work/life balance, join the Pointman team!!

Cons

Being in a SDR role is tough because it does require some cold calling. You have to be motivated all the time to do this kind of job. You are responsible for your own success and have to manage your day accordingly. If you want a job where you are told exactly what to do and when to do it, this may not be for you.

Pros

A bar that was stocked sometimes until a manager took you aside to yell at you for drinking

Cons

I left a stable, great paying job, to follow a leader I truly believed in, who I'm sure based much of his promises on the promises of the CEO. Almost all of which were false. I was given an OTE of $120k and told that an average sale was $13k, so that made sense. Well had I known that there were NO SALES when that statement was made.... I would not have left my established career for someone's pipe dream. I wish I could say that I took anything out of the 7 months I worked there that added to my career, but all it did was set me back a year. There was no training, there was no good product to sell, and there is zero regard for the reckless way the company was run. Also, to address the claim from a previous review that someone was hired who was drunk and broke in to a small business. That is absolutely accurate and he was arrested in Florida and can be easily seen on the public web. The usual covering up from HR can't hide that with all of the legal nonsense that was thrown out there to respond to the claim.

We’re sorry to hear that your experience with us was not a positive one. I had the pleasure of attending nearly every sales position interview last year and I felt that we were very transparent that we were launching a new product that we had yet to see thrive in the market. In fact, a number of candidates declined our offers of employment because they were not willing to take the risk that we had presented to them. Everyone at Pointman was crushed that our product did not find its fit in the market last year and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who took the journey with us, no matter how brief. We did our utmost to help transition those affected by the reduction, offering free resume review, professional introductions, and recommendations along with a very generous severance package. We believe in Pointman and will work hard to reach the success we know we can achieve and we will continue to do this with honesty, transparency, and respect. Regarding the former employee you mentioned, Pointman feels very strongly that the legal history of any past, present, or future employee has no bearing on any other employee’s ability to perform their job duties and will never be discussed openly unless there is a tangible threat to the safety or welfare of others. We sincerely wish you all the best in the future!
