Pros

- Podia has been doing remote since long before it was cool, and they do it right: lots of flexibility, lots of trust, and treating everyone like adults with the expectation that they do great work while not micro managing them. - Super friendly environment. I love the donut chats and getting to know people from other teams! - You can see the impact of your work quickly. Creators are living their dreams every day because of the work we do, and the company puts that front and center for everyone.

Cons

It's a growing company, and that comes with challenges as they figure out how to communicate and collaborate across growing teams. It's not a place where there's a ton of rigid process, nor is it a place where everything is done on the fly, but somewhere in between. I think this is something that will get figured out over time.

Pros

- Everyone's really motivated to do their best work because we care about creators and we trust each other, and I think that's why we're able to ship so much and so often - There's always work to be done, but we care about prioritizing work life balance and everyone I've worked with is supportive and collaborative. - I feel supported by my manager and that expectations are clear, or as clear as they can be in a start-up environment - We truly care about each other as people, not just employees/coworkers - We're fully remote and around the world, so there's an autonomy in making your own hours or having flexibility in your day as long as you can achieve results and keep the team moving forward

Cons

- The company's going through some growing pains right now where processes around communication and planning are breaking down because we're bigger now, which can make things confusing/disorganized, but this is normal at this stage of the company. We've been making improvements and I think it will get better over time - Things move so fast that sometimes it's hard to find time to step back, reflect, and refocus on the "bigger picture" of why we're doing what we're doing in our day to day (related to point 1) - We're a small team so despite all the stuff we can do and have done, we still can't meet all the needs of creators at the speed that we would like. - Might be a con for some and pro for others: it's a start-up and so you can make a big impact really quickly, but that also means there isn't that much structure to do so and you have to go find those opportunities and people might not exactly know how. But I've found it helpful talking to my manager through ideas

Pros

Awesome colleagues, benefits were just okay

Cons

Leadership routinely fires (or “lays off”) employees who disagree with them. They punish them for thinking differently and for being loud about it. Then they badmouth them to the remaining workforce even after you leave, to the point of defamation. Also, I’ve found after moving on that there are more opportunities with far better pay and less stress and abuse from leadership.
