Pros

My first impression of the company is that it's a well run small business. I was interviewed by 5 people all with different backgrounds and they genuinely wanted to get to know me. Everyone is extremely hard working and people all wear many hats to get the job done. The team is dynamic, and the office is comfortable to work in. It's stocked with free snacks, coffee, and once in a while management will treat us to a free pizza lunch or other catered lunch. My role as a customer service specialist is to engage and build relationships with PLX customers. Management will guide me and also leave some room for me to own the task and perform in a way that I see fit where I can also be creative with my personal touches. Management genuinely cares about me and drives me to be successful. I have a lot of fun here. We kid with each other a bit too frequently however when it comes to business everyone needs to be on their A game. I see lots of good things happening at PLX Devices and I continue to look forward to driving innovation forward.

Cons

If you're not driven, this is not the place for you. PLX Devices is fast paced with lots of tasks with high rewards. If you're looking for a comfortable job where you sit and wait around for instruction, this is not the place for you. You need to be a self starter, dynamic, and a team player. They don't keep lazy people around long.

Pros

Many companies are politically driven and very few are actually performance driven. PLX Devices is the latter where the top priority is to get the job done and deliver the best products in the world. This is a great place to work for because it is fun to create new and exciting products. If you're looking for a top engineering firm to work for, this is it.

Cons

The culture at PLX is demanding and may not be a fit for everyone, especially new college graduates who are unable to acclimate to the professional work force.

Pros

I was a summer intern with PLX Devices. We worked on a digital motor design prototype. I had the experience to conceive, schematic, draw a PCB layout and have it manufactured. Then I hand soldered all of the raw components to complete a product prototype. My experience has been amazing because I actually got to participate in a product design process from start to finish and not just a small sliver of a design that other high tech company's internship programs do. The internship program was lead by Paul Lowchareonkul. He helped all of us learn about design and to create the skills necessary to be successful in the high tech field. This internship at PLX Devices has been invaluable to my experience transitioning out of a college mentality to a work mentality.

Cons

The CEO is very busy so time is a bit limited to get his time and attention. But when you do, it's a great learning experience and I tried to pick his brain as much as I could.
