Pros
I personally do not have the habit of writing a reviews for the firms I worked for, but I feel that there is a need to address some of the good points this firm has since the previous few posts are quite negative and perhaps a little subjective. (Note the similar style of writing in point forms. I just hope they are not written by the same person). I am writing here in hope to help the rest out there looking for jobs and also my fellow ex-colleagues to see more clearly, that it's not all bad in here. I could have been lazy and not write at all, but I feel this is the right thing to do. I do not wish to side anyone and I hope to stay as neutral as possible. I hope that the new-comers can eventually make their own decisions on whether to take that leap of faith and join Plus65 like I did, despite some of the negative reviews out there. I took that leap of faith and I did not regret it. It was the people here in Plus65 that made me stay longer than I would have stayed. Some may say that the social media is just a facade. I say we worked hard and played hard. Despite having things to do, we still do appreciate a little break here and there. Friends and colleagues are the reason why we turn up for work with a smile everyday. Simple questions like "you want kopi siew dai?" or "what's for lunch?" are little things you look forward to together with colleagues at Plus65. And of course, not to forget, the #WoW #workoutwednesday! The bosses had contributed their own money for sports enthusiasts to build a mini gym for people who wants to work out since we have that extra space unused. Plus65 highly encourage you to upgrade yourself as well. If you had seen any conferences/talks which you would like to attend you can bring it up to the management and "jio" others to join you as well. This is a very good place to learn and improve your skills if you are willing to. Overall, the firm is rather flexibile and you are opened to make suggestions in projects you handle or generic suggestions for the office. When the bosses feeling kind, they will buy snacks for everyone to eat. It is a form of reward for people which I wish people would appreciate more as it is definitely not something you will see everywhere you go.
Cons
I really think the company believe a little too much in fengshui. The only thing you need to believe in is your own people. :) Timelines for some projects are indeed quite tight, but you can't deny the bosses don't do anything for the people too. They are humans and they can get really busy dealing with matters out there which employees are unaware of. At least they bother to build a gym or buy food for you to eat? Truth to be told, yes, Plus65 is not the best firm to work for, but it is definitely not the worst one either. Ask yourself this, how many firms out there have you worked for where you truly feel happy? I am glad that this is not the worst firm I have worked for as I had been through worser ones. It is easy to point out something we do not like about a company. I’m sure everyone in every company has one or two things they do not like about the company they worked for. But be appreciative for every thing you learnt, and every opportunity that comes by, for it happened for a reason. If you have moved on to pursue another role out there, then I wish you all the best. Likewise for me, I have moved on too. But till this date, I honestly think I may not get the same family feeling I get over here, but life goes on. All I can say is, try your best to be like a family anywhere you work. Support one another. Enable teamwork and disable politics. The stronger the bond of the family, the lesser the chances of politics occurring in the firm. Lastly, let's just wish Plus65 all the best. For all the new people joining Plus65, focus on spreading positive mindset. Help build a good environment. Sometimes it's not about choosing a good environment, it's about making that environment better than it is before.
