Pros

Extremely positive overall culture. Executive team believes in the product and purpose of the company, but also has genuine respect for individuals. Everyone in the company is treated well, including respectable salaries and generous benefits. Everyone I've talked to speaks of Pluralsight as by far the best company they've ever worked for. Family and friends are envious when I talk about our workplace. I feel free here. There's no micro-management whatsoever. We've recently done away with accrued PTO and set limits on expense. I am treated like a respected adult. Work is intrinsically rewarding. I'm proud of what we do. We don't hire jerks. I love the people that I work with. Happiness and respect from coworkers is infectious, and has quite literally changed my attitude and happiness in the workplace. The company invests in employees' well-being. HR and finance will devote money for any worthy cause, be it a new piece of equipment for your desk, or sponsoring an internal fitness club. Tons of perks and fringe benefits. State of the art office space. Catered meals and regular snacks, comped outings, celebratory activities. The environment is like a small piece of Silicon Valley. The fact that the 'cons' listed below are all I can think of. The 'cons' aren't so much things that demotivate or worry me, rather they're things that could be better. I never thought I would like working in an office. But I never thought an office could be this nice.

Cons

Growing pains. We're growing fast, and that comes with uncertainty and challenge. We don't have the time to figure out the best way to progress - we just have to buckle up and do it. Feeling 'out of the loop'. Related to growth, especially with offices in different locations. It's easy to get lost with all the new hires. I find myself asking 'who are you and what do you do'. Limited understanding of what goes on in other departments.

Cons

New senior leadership that came in from Avantax essentially ruined the company and culture that had been built up in years prior. They took no time to understand roles within the business, just interested in making any short term cost cutting decisions that will keep them afloat. However, they have no long term strategy in mind and are constantly pivoting on a whim.
