Pros

- They're part of a great incubator in Toronto that's called OneEleven - Some of the smartest people has invested in Plooto

Cons

- Hamed (the CEO) is the worst type of leader you could ever work for; he lacks respect for most of his employees, he shouts at his employees. The most awkward times are when he's screaming at his co-founder in front of everyone in an open space incubator with other startups. He micromanages because he doesn't believe people can do their jobs properly. This culture and attitude has flowed down to the other employees. It is not a good working environment. - Pay. Underpaid, undervalued, overworked. Plooto pays well below industry average. No matter what they say during the recruitment process, there is no rapid growth. It was a very rare achievement to get any type of promotion, raise, or positive feedback. He promised one of the employee shares as part of the compensation package and it took him 2 years to deliver. Hamed is not a man of his word. - Hours. Being shamed for leaving before 7pm or for taking your lunch break away from your desk is an unhealthy work environment and becomes so draining that it affects your personal life. There were times where someone had to bring air mattresses in because he had too much work to do. You're expected to work about 60 hours but you'll still be paid based on a 40-hour work week. It's sold as the 'entrepreneurial spirit!!!'. Pay your employees more and give them flexibility in their working hours and they’d be more willing to work longer hours. PLEASE do not work here. I had many personal and mutual friends message me because of job openings, and all I could say was RUN. I wouldn’t wish this place on my worst enemy.

Pros

Plooto has been on a meaningful transformation journey, and the progress over the past two years has been real. The company has done the hard work of rebooting its culture, strengthening leadership, and creating more clarity around how we work, make decisions, and grow together. The CEO and executive team have brought a much stronger sense of focus, transparency, and operating discipline. 2025 in particular felt like a true reboot year: clearer priorities, more accountable leadership, better communication, and a renewed commitment to building a high-performing, people-first company. The culture is one of the biggest positives. There is a strong emphasis on trust, inclusion, ownership, learning, and doing great work with heart. I’ve seen meaningful investment in leadership development, employee experience, benefits, and the systems needed to help the company scale in a healthier and more sustainable way. Plooto is also full of smart, kind, mission-driven people who care deeply about the work and about supporting small businesses. It feels like a company with a strong foundation and a genuinely positive trajectory.

Cons

Like many companies going through transformation, Plooto is still maturing in some areas. The pace can be fast, priorities can shift, and there is still work to do to simplify processes and make sure teams have the clarity they need as the company scales. This is probably not the right environment for someone looking for a fully built, highly predictable company. It is a better fit for people who are energized by growth, change, ownership, and helping build the next version of the company.

Pros

- People were kind - Projects were easy

Cons

- Felt very cold at times as a result of the remote work policy - Company space is boring - Lots of red tape given the size of the company
