Pros

People, benefits are one of the best, location, connections

Cons

Avoid working here at all costs if you can. If you’re a certain type of person, you could last a little longer. I’m surprised no one has called out the current CEO on the historical and ongoing pattern that seems to occur while he’s in power. It’s astonishing. He’s not very well liked in the community due to obvious reasons. He continues to eliminate the men in power around him and only hires women of a certain demographic to leadership positions or people without a backbone. These people then figure out his narcissistic ways and leave on their own accord. He plays a political game and doesn’t seem to actually care about workers as he claims. Yes, it’s high school all over again. The focus of the business has changed which is fair. I the business still doesn’t seem to have a clear mandate.

Pros

Strong external branding and PR. The organization looks good from the outside, and it’s connected to Calgary’s innovation ecosystem. If you're only here for your resume or to network externally, you might get some mileage.

Cons

Leadership hires their personal connections and past colleagues into roles behind closed doors, skipping transparent processes entirely. It’s less about merit, more about who you know (in the worst way possible) Various people are let go without clear reason. There’s no feedback, no performance framework—just politics. Good people leave fast. Some are pushed out for being too competent or let go without reason. If you challenge decisions or refuse to play along with the internal clique, you’re out. It’s a toxic culture built on fear and false collaboration. Leadership loves to talk about equity, innovation, and community—but fails to embody any of it behind the scenes. It’s all PR, no backbone. When things go wrong (layoffs, mistreatment, bullying from leaderships, staff turnover), leadership disappears. There’s no transparency, no accountability. Don’t expect any professional development, mentorship, or a clear trajectory either. Their high turnover speaks for itself.
