Great People Doing Some Great Things - Graphic Design Intern Plant With Purpose Employee Review

Pros

Everyone there is there for the mission and they are all super friendly. Only about 25 - 30ish people work in the main office so you get to know everyone pretty quick. The only downside was that it was a remote internship (which no one can help) and that hindered the experience a bit. It is fast pace, but that is work and part of the grind; I also probably made it that way for myself. Though, when you know you are doing it for a mission such as Plant With Purpose it makes the work more fun. If you are looking for a cool place, with good people, and a great God-centered mission this is your place.

Pros

Best in class international programming. Was always very proud of our work and would certainly recommend donors to Plant With Purpose in the future--worth every penny. Effective mission with lasting results. Almost all employees were top of their game, genuinely kind, trustworthy, curious, and proactive. Best work culture I've experienced so far and I became a better person through my time there. The board of directors was engaged. Favorite feature: the lived experience and best interests of program beneficiaries was always top of mind in program decision-making. MEL feedback loop was on point; best I've seen to date.

Cons

As is usually the case in the nonprofit sector, low pay across the board in the US. At the time, most of us were near the 50th percentile for our job descriptions, maybe the 60th, despite being in the 95th percentile in terms of talent. To their credit, the retirement account matching was generous (if you could afford to contribute), and HR always errored on the side of the employee in terms of flexibility. Amazing place to work if you can afford it.
