Pros

Great sales experience Really awesome starter job to get into sales/marketing and management If you stay here for a while, it will look really good on your resume especially because you get promoted quickly based on how well your sales are. You learn an incredible amount like customer service and sales

Cons

Terrible higher management like the district and regional managers. They are selfish and only care about how they look. They are not family oriented so it makes it difficult if you have children or a life in general. Even when you are not at work, expect constant calls from your store. The scheduling is terrible. I tried going to school while being an assistant and I literally had no time for studying. There have been many times that the GM only schedules one person during busy season. Many staff members and I have cried countless times during and after work due to the amount of stress and overwhelming amount of work that is expected of an employee... and higher management cares less as long as the store makes money and as long as they don't look bad to corporate. I feel like I am ALWAYS at work and I'm ALWAYS tired. The District and Regional managers belittle your character, are super unforgiving, and literally scare you when you see that they are visiting your store. That definitely should not be the case.

Pros

Free tanning, nice discount, wonderful customers you'll see every morning if you're an opener. You're pretty much always moving so time goes by pretty quickly. If you're really good at sales and great at kissing butt, promotions seem to come fairly easily.

Cons

Worked in a lower income part of town as an opener, and was expected to sell product every morning to customers, although they were 85% all regulars that I saw every day. I worked there for 6 months and had 4 different managers. They are constantly changing management, and the customers strongly dislike that as well. They care about sales over everything else. A lot of the people were nice to your face but fake, and would often cheat the system to look like they're making more sales. Most of the time you are working alone or with one other person so you never have a moment to pause. You do not get a lunch break due to this. Corporate is scary - even the managers are scared of them. They're rude right to your face. They'll tell you stuff like they can see your computer screens at any point if the want to, so they can check if you're goofing off or making sales, etc. They want to scare you in to selling stuff basically.
