Pros

Remote work Employee-facing HR staff is genuinely concerned about employees Nice swag

Cons

Misleading job titles: "Business Analyst", "Project Manager", and Program Manager" are used for associate level roles--perhaps to make up for poor salaries. Salaried/exempt employees are expected to work overtime regularly—some roles more than others. The burdens of poor decisions at the executive level are placed on front-line staff and middle management.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for your service at PlanSource! I agree with you that PlanSource has a great HR team and the flexibility to work remotely is great. We care about our employees and our clients. I would like to address a couple of your other comments. PlanSource is a fast growing company and with that come some good challenges. Over the past year, we have been making significant investments to strengthen our organization and help us scale for greater success – simplifying and automating our processes, focusing on internal growth and promotions, helping our employees with change management, training and also supporting them in a variety of ways as the pandemic has progressed. I am sorry that you felt that job titles were not aligned to the role at hand, I would encourage team members that feel that way to address those concerns with HR or their manager. 2020 has provided a good learning experience allowing us to make major changes to our staffing model. We are hiring more than 250 positions right now globally and know this will set us up for success in 2021 and beyond. We know that our busy season is difficult and we are preparing for that ahead of time to try to alleviate that pressure in Q4. Individual and leadership accountability is critical to success and growth in a company. We would never intentionally put unrealistic expectations on team members and would urge anyone that feels that way to speak up to their manager or a member of the ELT team. Lastly, we always encourage team members to share their ideas with leaders on how we can improve processes or policies. Thank you again for taking the time to write a review and we wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. Alan Primeaux Chief Operating Officer

Exciting company culture and fast paced. Management wants their employees to succeed and thrive.

Some leadership changes towards the end of my work there, but it seems like that has been smoothed out.

Pros

Remote or Hybrid work schedule, if you live outside of the city limits. Unlimited PTO policy, but is PTO ever unlimited.

Cons

There is not much room for advancement, if you’re not connected. Most of middle management and above are not POC. All the strong POC leaders were here today, gone the next day! The staff is overworked and underpaid. Only way to receive a higher salary is to resign and reapply. I survived a few CEOs, and once this last one came in all the tenured staff were being let go. Normal, if a new Executive comes in but there people were 15+ years in. This new PlanSource does not seem as if it cares much for their employees. Most of the workload is being outsourced to India. I’ve seen good, hardworking dedicate people get axed during my time! Not sure they’re invested in retaining good talent! Definitely a swim or sink culture, You will not get much help with learning the Benefits Admin system. It’s sort of a self-guided dive in approach.
