Can't Hold on to Temps - Verification Specialist Pinnacle Investigations Employee Review

Pros

There is a significant amount of work to be done during certain times of the year, a high opportunity for overtime in the temporary worker capacity.

Cons

The company has a hard time holding on to temporary workers, and doesn't seem to value the individual beyond how many files they can move. It's understandable that some temps will leave, but a large percentage of temps leave without warning and there is no explanation given. I found myself overworked on an extensive schedule. Many times I worked from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM (with overtime), but management would tell me I could leave soon, only to turn around fifteen minutes later and change their minds when new files came in. There was a lack of awareness, including times when I was carrying 150% of my workload, and they reprimanded me before later going back and determining that the caseload was being misdistributed. I was between jobs in my legal career, and was asked if I wanted to stay on after my temporary employment. At the end of the temporary employment, they suggested I could have a management position there after several years of work. Why would I want to climb a corporate ladder there when they knew I had my J.D. and was looking for a more substantial position? Did they see my value, or did they not simply understand?

Pros

I'm currently a temporary seasonal worker, but I can honestly say that I love my job and the company, so the negative reviews I read before I started haven't reflected my experience at the company so far. The day flies by, the culture and management are super positive, I like my coworkers, and I enjoy the work that I'm doing. This feels like my dream job. The remote online training (due to COVID) was the best job training that I have received. This is the kind of place where if you are willing to work hard, there are plenty of opportunities for growth. One of the top managers of the company started there as a receptionist, for instance. No glass ceiling here for women in the business. I could definitely see staying with the company for a long time.

Cons

Scheduling can be somewhat unpredictable, depending on the number of files we get in a day, with some overtime when things get busy, but I don't mind the extra hours, so for me it doesn't really feel like a con. It might not be a good fit for you if you aren't willing to put in the effort because the people who thrive there are the hard workers. They care a lot about numbers. Work is seasonal with a slower off-season.
