Good benefits, great staff, supportive admin

Patrons can be a touch chaotic

Good if you want a job that pays the bills, only requiring you to show up, fulfill duties, and go home at the end of the shift. No real opportunity for promotion or salary increase. Maybe a cost of living increase every few years.

Feels underpaid. Very slow moving for new growth opportunities. Some toxicity within branches, outdated managerial styles. Can be quite demanding and more like social work depending on the branch location and the economic background of the public served. Can be hard to see the suffering of people with little that can be done for them. Sometimes they get grumpy and take their frustrations out on the person trying to help them.
