Pros

The product is well reviewed. The location is great. Talks with the Leadership team seem transparent but often they just inform why a decision is being made rather than discussing it beforehand.

Cons

I worked there over a year and I saw about an 80% turnover of employees (including the leadership team and co-founders). If you didn't leave on your own, most people got laid off during department cuts or pushed out one way or another. People on the sales side got fired if they didn't meet their numbers, I also saw over 4 directors of sales get fired within a year. It creates an environment where nobody feels safe in their current position. If you want to work for the Amazon of startups this is your place. I got hired for my expertise and then often would not get involved in department meetings. Even though it's a small company many employees play their cards close to their chest.

Thank you for your comments about our product and office location. We strive to create a positive experience for our employees. We'd like you and others to understand, we’re a classic startup. Leading Front Desk through transitions in its business lifecycle is not easy, or obvious. We learned over the past nine months that the same methods that produced success in earlier stages, created threats to our survival in the next. Fundamental changes in leadership, management and talent were required. As such, we have made significant and planful changes throughout our organization, starting at the top and with a focus on people and process improvement. We will continue to evaluate ourselves, and be unrelenting in our quest for leadership. We owe this to our employees, customers and shareholders. Thank you for your feedback.

Pros

This is the first place I've worked where I'm happy to show up every day. There is no corporate BS and everyone gets along as if we've known each other for years. While we are encouraged to work hard, there is still a great work-life balance. If something comes up and you need to work from home, no problem. We're all issued laptops so we have the freedom to work wherever we want. But why wouldn't I want to come to the office daily? My friends are here, we get snacks, dogs visit us regularly, and the company has a monthly stipend to cover parking expenses. Capitol Hill can be a pain when it comes to finding cheap or free parking (without getting a ticket), and this is very helpful. The new leadership has a plan to make the company successful, inside and out. They've spent several months identifying our "gaps" and now proactively work to fill them. They are also making sure we are working efficiently with the right goals in mind. I'm excited to see where 2016 takes us!

Cons

Admittedly, there has been a high turnover rate through the last 6 months. Looking back, many of the employees who left weren't very engaged and had different career paths in mind. This startup is going through a big growth stage, and I don't know any other company that hasn't been through a tough time like this without losing talent. Luckily, we have a plan to hire and retain the right people in the right roles as we grow over the next few years.
