Pros
I worked in South Orange County so I got to enjoy driving around a beautiful area every day. I love the outdoors, working with customers, stopping for lunch/snacks whenever I want, and not having a boss over my back, so this was a great job for me. The pay was good, it was all commission if I remember correctly. On average $300-$1000/week (but you pay for your own gas which really ads up). The senior techs always got the better jobs and consistently brought in $1000/week+. Climbing telephone polls was always fun. QC. Meet lots of cool customers and see how different people live; I've been in many houses that blew my mind. Great work/life balance (if your the type who needs that). Typically off by 5-6. Overall I really enjoyed working there and would definitely go back if the work was consistent.
Cons
Slow seasons with very little work (the reason I had to quit). Working in the rain can suck but it not too bad with a rain jacket. No real room for promotion but many guys are happy with $1000/week anyways. Paying your own gas.
