Pros

Nice tv, nice computers and office. Opportunities for self-taught learning.

Cons

This company internally is very disorganized. There are absolutely no standards, procedures or protocol in regard to management at all. No Accountability Management was not willing to hold themselves accountable for the complete disarray that was a result of lack of organization. Blame was often placed on employees and were to clean up management messes on a daily basis. Unrealistic expectations/poor wages The expectation to wear various hats and going beyond the call of duty past your required responsibilities was the normal behavior here. The expectation to willingly do more than what was asked of you for $3 above minimum wage as a college graduate was very off putting, especially when it was hard to receive the money that you've earned for 2 weeks in a timely fashion, generally late. No Communication There was very little communication between management and employees, but the expectation to get things done was still extremely high. The consequences for not completing tasks unbeknownst to you resulted in unscheduled meetings where employees were spoken to in a highly disrespectful and degrading manner. I've never been spoken to like that by an employer in my entire life. Often times meetings were either missed or double booked and a lot of scrambling to figure things out at the last minute. Discussion of issues or concerns with anything in regard to the company immediately targeted you for termination. As a small company who values the idea of evolving through innovation and with emphasis of letting its employees feel like they can speak freely, this was quite disturbing. As an employee, there was no encouragement or positive reinforcement, making it a very depressing place to work. Not Open To Change If you want to work for a company that values your opinion and is open to changing for the better, this is not the company to work for. Relationships The relationships among peers was ok, but we never really worked as a team. It was a very 'every man for him/herself' type of atmosphere. However the 'work politics' became stressful due to management discussing information about its employees to other employees (when these things were discussed in confidence), creating tension, bias, and angst within the group. Without any type of Human Resources department, we were all subjected to it and nothing could be done. Unprofessionalism at its finest. No Project Management Project management was very chaotic and its lack of organization made everything worse. The project manager wasn't really around to see what was going on. No delegation whatsoever. You just kind of had to figure it out. If you are a self starter and don't need any direction, that could be beneficial to you. No Benefits If you are looking for medical coverage or retirement plan, this is not the place to find it. Even basic amenities such as coffee, snacks, water and creamer were forever lacking, and employees were often sent to the store to buy these items out of pocket in hopes of being reimbursed at some point. Overall, this was the worst work experience I've ever had. Once you get past the glitz and glamour of the facade, you really see the core issues all revolving around management. Between constantly feeling like you weren't ever doing enough, low wages for high quality work, extreme favoritism, blatant disrespect and no benefits, I would not recommend this company as a place of employment/internships or anything involving a smart career move. There is no opportunity for growth unless you are willing to do more without ever speaking of a realistic compensation for giving everything to the company. Netflix, nice tvs and cool office space are not enough for those of us who understand our self worth and the value of our creative skill set.

Pros

The company was born from blood, sweat, love, and tears, the vision and the work ethic have always remained strong and diligent. We have indeed had a rough patch, but those of us who were loyal fought our way through it and continue to each day. The creative team, with the help of the entire staff, strive to bring the customers needs to fruition. For the people who keep trying to bring us down, we will not fail, we will continue to grow, and although your attempts to sabotage us failed miserably, we learned who was loyal and the take away is it made us stronger and work even harder to strengthen our client base and improve existing, extremely valued customers. It is an honor to work with this family of devoted, creative, determined, amazing people. Don't miss an opportunity to meet with PHU Concepts and see what they can bring to your table.

Cons

To be honest, the only cons are the rare negativity brought onto these sights and the fact that we can't reach more people and show them what an asset we would be to their business.
