Pros

Phoenix Group is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business with management experience supporting government and commercial industry. Company management is engaged and supportive. Their hands-on approach creates an easy environment to work. Phoenix Group Safety & Damage Control Products are first-rate. The Sigmon System Suit is NFPA 1992-2012 Certified. Phoenix Group is committed to supporting the First Responder community in the identification of emerging technologies that will increase safety, improve responsiveness, and reduce costs. They care about their employees.

Cons

This is contractor work. While the company will go out of their way to keep you employed or help you find work there is always the risk of being laid off due to the lack of a contract to support your position.

Pros

The company is small, under 70 employees, allowing you to know most if not all of the employees and senior corporate staff. They are very flexible to meet the needs of the employees in most instances. Very good 401k.

Cons

This small company focuses on government contracting, so when a contract ends, there is virtually no "cover" for the employee to move to another position within the company. They have a no buy back on Personal Time Off (PTO) policy when one leaves the company, for any reason. This makes sense if the company terminates the employee for cause, however, it makes no sense if the employee is terminated for reasons out of the employee's control.
