Pros

Previous Director created some Interesting Art Exhibits. There was Some flexibility in scheduling.

Cons

During my 8 years there I never got a review or payraise with a review of my work. Sadly the beancounters and hr dept decided that $13 hr was the going rate for my position [started lower], degrees and time given and then all hands were tied. When I asked how this figure was determined I was told they "bought" a list of salaries to set theirs. They didn't see the conflict with this- or any relevance for the going rates I found at nearby similar jobs. Though endowed with Billion$, they only give .5% raises occasionally and when you are pt and underpaid this 'raise' is pennies - hardly in step with the economy or going rates. They could and should be doing so much better for their employees.

Pros

If you're a faculty member, this is the place for you. Benefits were great, but not worth being treated like "less than" if you aren't faculty.

Cons

If you are a staff member, this is not the place for you. The culture seems to prioritize it's wealthier students and more elite faculty members at the cost of the integrity of its own staff members. There is little room for career advancement when the gap between entry level staff and seasoned faculty is made blatantly obvious when they don't even care to look at you when you greet them.
