Cons
This company is not good at promoting from within, especially with regards to professional positions. If you are a new hire in a professional position, expect to be thrown into the job with virtually no training or guidance. The company is very disorganized and the right hand often does not know what the left hand is doing. Therefore there is redundancy and wasted efforts. They focus on process improvement, on the manufacturing side of things, but not on the processes and tools professionals have to use. Management is very disconnected with the employees, and the value that they can add to the company. Whatever they hear or perceive about you, is what you are, and will always be. They don't seem evolved enough, to study to show themselves approval, nor care enough, to seek the truth. The trust and morale is very low, and stress is very high. Even in these hard times, there is much talk by many employees, of leaving. Even an HR employee recently gave no notice and just packed up and quit the same day. What does that tell you? Employees cannot focus on getting their work done, because of the micro-managing, and pettiness. You have to spend more time covering yourself and looking over your shoulder, than working. It is wasteful, counter productive, and shows that the company doesn't trust or care about it's employees. They need to work smarter, instead of harder. This company does not use it's resources well. There is so much un-tapped talent within the company. i once saw a new person, that was upset because they were left on their own with no work to do, and no training. At that moment I could think of at least ten things for that person to do, but they did not work in my department. People have all kinds of ideas of how to improve things. Unfortunately, it seems management feels they are the authority, knows everything, and wants all the credit if something goes good. Yet getting them to make a decision on anything, is like pulling teeth. They are afraid of making the wrong decision, and getting blamed. To be honest, it seems like most of them don't really know what they are doing. You just don't see that confidence in them.
