Pros
At the beginning 6 yrs ago I loved my position and the company. Bob was the best the CEO. Friendly, could talk to any level of management and feel like you were heard. Advancement opportunities were real for your hard work. The culture was better than any other and was the best company to work for on this planet. People really cared.
Cons
New management came in and things to a downhill slide. They started focusing only on profitability and not the people. Yes there is and was a chance for advancement but only if you jumped through hoops for the new guy. He did not listen and people who said the right things began to be promoted. Not on what they did but what they said. Most took credit for what you did and got promoted off of your back. The market managers changed with the stress and the promise of a promotion. They became puppets and was rewarded. Market managers lying on store managers to get them fired and this is allowed. Market managers using their cards for personal use and when confronted a manager was set up and fired after a long time with the company. The company is so great now that they didn't even care to talk to the manager who had busted their butt for them and was a good manager. Instead they rewarded the market manager and let the manager go. You don't have to have real evidence if the manager or market manager is well liked. Their word is gold. They hired people after the ones that helped build the company and paid the new managers sometimes upwards of $10000 more a year and had the lesser paid manager train them. This company was great but now the direction it is going is sad. They are still putting up the numbers but happiness within the organization is gone. It is so sad.
