Pros
30% Staff Discount on own brand products, 20% on everything else. Working with Animals. I get some say over what shift I do if I have commitments outside of work. In house training opportunities like SQP. Support for financially struggling colleagues. Free shares. Bonus (if you manage to achieve it, it isn't easy.) The company does generally look after staff - cost of living pay increases etc. Decent amount of leave. Job security.
Cons
Increasingly unachievable targets and expectations with increasingly reduced hours and staff. Despite cost of living pay increases, pay is far too low for the amount of knowledge required for the job. No enhanced pay on bank holidays. It use to be a fun job but lately it's all becoming increasingly stressful and negative. I get the impression all levels of management in the business are feeling the pressure. The business is obsessed with emails and they're becoming increasingly passive aggressive and micro managey. There just isn't enough hours in the day or bodies in the store to achieve what needs to be done every day. Work life balance isn't great.
