Pros

The transition to Pet Partners helped move our hospital forward, We were able to turn the page and make necessary changes that created a better environment to work. Communication has been extremely encouraged so that then entire team is advised of changes. Continuing Education is valued, encouraged and supported. In the Practice Manager position, the amount of change in all procedures came with a definite learning curve. The team at the corporate office is there for moral support and guidance. They answer the phone with a cheerful attitude and direct you to the department that can best assist you. Its evident that they are a caring group of people!

Cons

The Pet Partners group has had a high volume of growth. It concerns me that, although it would not be intended, the assistance I rely on at the corporate office will be less available to me due to the stress placed on their team. Ultimately, I trust Pet Partners to keep in touch with the individual practices and make changes as problem arise.

Pros

Our hospital was purchased by Pet Partners a little over a year ago from the former owner. I believed at the time that it was the best possible outcome and I still believe that today. As the new Medical Director, Pet Partners has provided me with ongoing mentoring to help me grow as a leader and evolve our hospital team. They have several other valuable training and continuing education opportunities as well. Pet Partners certainly encourages "best medicine" but does not dictate the way I practice medicine. The Practice Manager and I maintain a great deal of decision making authority. Pet Partners also encourages their hospitals maintain their "local" feel and connect with their clients and community. There is always a cheerful, friendly voice answering the phone when you call over to Operations Support which lends to the "family" atmosphere.

Cons

As Pet Partners continue to add more hospitals, my concern is whether they will be able to maintain the "family" feel between hospitals and Operations Support. The good news is the leadership seems to be well aware of this challenge and I believe that striving to maintain the current atmosphere is a priority for them.
