Pros
ASR is a global company and will give you good exposure, depending on your position. It has a good community reputation. Salaries are generally competitive as long as you negotiate well when you are hired.
Cons
This is a Union plant, and although a lot of the "fire" from the older groups has died with attrition and early retirements, there are still a few more headaches if you work in Manufacturing. Although promotion is possible, you will rarely get anywhere near the salary increase you should, so your initial salary will determine your future earnings potential. Trust is a huge issue here, and those that don't play the political game well may not last long. The company is top-heavy with vice-presidents. For example, we just laid off 5 salary employees and hired 1 VP.
