Pros

The City of Perris is conveniently located near freeway so makes commuting easier. City is in the growth phase so future opportunities could be available if management changes.

Cons

Management is the reason this organization is such a terrible place to work and will unfortunately be the reason for its demise. There is unethical HR processes, illegal labor practices, intimidation, retaliation, and super low employee morale. Many of the current employees are actively seeking to leave due to the subpar management, retaliatory work environment, and egregious working conditions. Management and HR intimidates staff with threats of discipline and practices unethical terminations. You are worked out of class and overworked with little to no help. Many times employees have to stay way after to finish their job duties. Employees are working for free because of backwards flex scheduling in some instances, and are being required to work off the books. Employee issues get swept under the rug. Management is sure to hide these issues from Council so that they can continue to run the city as they choose. The place is run very unprofessional and doesn't allow for any employee that is NOT a favorite to have a chance at advancement or simply just an opportunity to work in a healthy work environment. There is absolutely no support from management. Super high turnover with many past and present employees feeling like this place is despicable! Management doesn't have a genuine interest in helping the public. Every chance they get to not do something the right way, they take it. If they get a chance to ignore it, they will. They will ignore public concerns and demands if allowed and if they could keep it from the Council. The only time they take interest is when they know they are being watched by Council however they overload staff with the duties and take the credit for the work once it's done. Employees constantly complain about management not being available or tending to their staff due to them coming in consistently late and leaving early, and taking long extended lunch breaks. There's so many things wrong with this place! So many employees are going to the doctor more often than not and having to call in sick due to the stress and wear and tear this place puts on them. I'm surprised there hasn't been a lawsuit about this stuff!

Pros

The non management employees are a great hard working people!

Cons

Thera are more management than employees! We are so under staff and overworked. I swear this year they have created more directors positions and promotions within themselves. I feel so sad and embarrassed to know that state, federal and citizens money is being mishandled by the management team! Whatever you do don't work here unless you are already BFFs with our management than you'll be promoted in no time. Most of us are currently doing the work of aproximately two to three people and it just doesn't make any sense to have a director than a manager to oversee only three employees. The employees are the ones doing all the work there is absolutely no need for such big payed upper management for a city that only employs about 66 employees.
