Pros

First and foremost is opportunity. Its a small company at which good work is not overlooked and proactive people are rewarded. You will not be a cog in the machine at Perceptronics. The work is also really interesting. This type of research and development work is very hard to come by. Not surprising that the people are by and large hard working, smart, engaging, and fun to work with. Employees have a surprising amount of input on a lot of things.

Cons

The work can be a bit chaotic. I personally don't see this as a con, but I think that some people do. If you have a hard time changing gears on the fly or working under uncertain / changing requirements then Perceptronics (or R&D in general) are probably not for you. The openness and flexibility that I described under "pro" can also be seen as a con. People who thrive at Perceptronics are typically those that feel comfortable advocating for themselves and their positions.

Pros

Do you want to work at a place with great people? Do you want to work at a place where you can feel supported in reaching your goals, personal or career? Do you want to build something new and work on hard questions? Do you want to be justly compensated for the work you put into the company? Do you want to be appreciated as a valuable member of the team? These are all things that I have had for the last ~8 years. I came to Perceptronics from a large, institutionalized development firm and have grown with the company taking on various roles from development to management. The company has quadrupled in size since I started and there is lots of opportunity to grow and take on new roles and positions for those willing to do so.

Cons

Do you want to slack off and not meet deadlines? Do you want to work in an institution insulated from the vagaries of the business and be just another cog in the machine and silo'd into a single role? Do you want to take breaks and play games at a fooz ball table while you do? Do you want a custom chef that will cater to your every dietary whim? Perceptronics has none of these things.
