Cons: Regular layoffs, and uncertainty regarding future employment (dependent on federal contract) difficult standards/metrics of what is considered productive work, it is well known among the review staff that the only way to get promoted is to not do the work in the way you were trained so that you can keep up with production, and the people you are working with are rarely on the same page for case goals; field investigators and case reviewers should have a high level of overlap on mission goals, however there is frequently (weekly if not daily) disagreement between the two departments.
