Pros
I worked with some of the most talented public relations professionals that I've ever met (all have moved on to other places).
Cons
- Work/life balance doesn't exist; partners set expectations with clients that you will respond to emails, phone calls, etc at all hours of the day/night. - Partners over promise when they work to win new business, leaving associates with unrealistic expectations from clients from the beginning -- and no support from partners/mangers to meet them. - Job security is non-existent; the stress and anxiety that causes employees isn't worth the experience you gain working there. The company has seen 100 percent turnover in roughly 2 years. - Associates are constantly asked to do more, and are offered no additional resources (or additional compensation) to do so. - Associates are responsible for the health of their accounts, however work is constantly questioned and scrutinized by partners (who aren't even present on the accounts). - Employees are treated as if they are completely disposable, not as valuable assets to the business. - The partners pay themselves well enough to drive nice luxury cars, while associates are underpaid and are constantly under pressure to deliver more for clients. - Raises are few and far between. - Partners blatantly play favorites in the office, and pit employees against each other in an effort to boost productivity. My time here was interesting, to say the least. The most valuable lessons that I learned during my time here have already proven valuable as I start my own business. I sincerely caution anyone from pursuing any opportunities with this firm. It's truly not worth the stress and anxiety.
