Pros
pay is decent for the positions, four day work week is awesome. the warehouse is heated and cooled, there are a couple good decent managers, your coworkers are awesome, you wont find a better group of people on the planet. a good union is needed here.
Cons
the downside here is the Extremely toxic management, they will hire you for a certain position and then have you doing other tasks without proper pay increase, Advancement is rare, gatekeeping is the norm. pay raises are a joke. You don't get paid based upon your performance rather its an annual participation trophy and barely over social security cola, you will not get that if you accept any position other than your current one. or no raise if you are not one of the chosen few. if you quit you will not get paid for pto, unless you been there two years but you will not be told this until you walk out the door. safety violations are mostly ignored if you are good looking or work loading/unloading trucks. if the management takes a dislike for you, you will be written up for every mistake and you will be looked over for advancement. Do not speak your mind or remind management of policy as you will have a short career and will need to go apply to dollar general or Amazon which is where I recommend going in the first place. These observations where my personal experience, your mileage may very. I cant say I wasted a year here as I met some very very good people, however it was a very expensive lesson in just how poor management and corporate politics can be detrimental to you. oh there are only two days this plant is closed on an annual basis.
