Pros
I did data entry and calling for Pecan Street Insurance and really enjoyed it. Ken (assuming he still works there) is an excellent manager and I really enjoyed the company of all of my co-workers. No dress code, pay was $10 an hour, and I received time off whenever I asked for it. Sometimes catered food and beer would show up, which was always a nice treat to walk into. Hours are strictly 9-6, so no one is ever getting worked to death.
Cons
I felt like Jay (the boss) was condescending to me. The company exists solely to make him money, so the agents don't make any commission. He was never in the office very much, but he wasn't afraid to train new agents or poke his head in and see what was going on. But I guess that's the American Dream, right?
I believe the starting salary for full-time employees is $27,500 or so. Great place to start right after college to launch a sales career, but I wouldn't stick around for more than a year.
