Pros
Union shop. One of the only hospitals of any significant size in Oregon due to geography. This department recognizes issues and tries to mitigate them.
Cons
Vindictive, cheap, retaliatory, red tape to get things done, has repeatedly said to nurses and staff : we know you are shorthanded, but no, we are not going to hire anymore staff. When trying to bargain, the hospital announced a 9% increase over 3 years - but only to the administrative (non-union) staff. This does not even meet the COLA for 3 years. The Union got 12% or more depending on the employee classification.
