There are talented, hardworking people at the lower and mid levels who genuinely care about doing good work. Some managers try to support their teams, but they are the exception, not the rule.
Cons
Leadership is obsessed with stock price and short-term Wall Street gains, not employees. Toby is ruthless, uninspiring, and brings no vision. His entire strategy is just copying Paychex’s playbook. Andy is the same, offering no imagination or originality. Pay for performance is a joke, used as an excuse to avoid giving raises. Misogyny is rampant. Women in leadership are expected to follow orders, not think independently, and if you are a woman with an opinion you will not last. Compassion, empathy, or humanity are not valued at this company. The culture has become soulless, and it feels inevitable that PCTY will be sold off in a few years.
