A total bait and switch. I was hired after being thoroughly vetted with 2 assessments and 5 interview rounds. Then a few months in, my job requirements changed unofficially (I was never given an updated job description outlining expectations for new areas of learning). In fact, during my time at Paylocity, I was never given any personal development goals. I was just expected to upskill without knowing what to focus on. Despite the changing requirements, my management team denied any requests for additional training so I could perform in my job. I was also routinely excluded from meetings necessary for me to do my job (meetings where stakeholders would discuss marketing performance). A meeting with HR was unable to provide with a long term solution and next steps. Senior leaders change their priorities on a daily basis, without effectively communicating them, leading to a culture focused more on putting out fires than managing fire drills, or even proactive planning for the future. It is a purely reactionary culture where coworkers are pitted against each other. This culture all stems from the top of the department, from a executive “leader” with poor vision and even poorer interpersonal skills (they would not even acknowledge me or say hello to me).
