Pros

Paylocity had a history of hiring outstanding employees and thus creating an environment that is supportive and fun. That has shifted dramatically this year. The CEO always shared his vision of happy employees, make happy clients but now the march towards a "billion" has the bottom line and clients in mind only and the employee experience was lost. The new CHRO has posted inspirational quotes and posters around that are company values but just because you force people to engage on your platform and "embrace" them by force, doesn't mean it reflects how people truly feel. The offices are updated and modern with nice amenities.

Cons

The leadership (from mid level, to senior to executive) has all shifted to having large egos and stopped focusing on the employee. There is a ton of favoritism with many different levels within the organization - but again if you're not on board with promoting the CHRO's message you better pack your bags!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us (the good and the bad). I'm really disappointed to hear that you had an experience that is the opposite to what we are intending and opposite the 82% of employees who rated us a great place to work in our anonymous engagement survey recently. I really wish we would have had to chance to speak before you left to better understand how we could have improved your experience. That said, as you know, we are proud to be a growth company. And while we strongly believe that growth will fuel opportunity for our employees and clients alike… we also know that growth can be painful. But the goal is to keep growing, and to keep growing together. We have been working hard over the years to create employee programs that are: supportive, that recognize and appreciate great work, that enable our employees to bring their whole self to work, and last but not least… infuse fun and camaraderie. Beyond having supportive and fun employee programs... we also believe that being clear about what we value and what’s important will help make sure that we are all marching to the same beat of the same drum no matter how big we get and no matter where someone works. This is why we have been putting so much effort around talking about our values, our priorities, and what makes us unique at PCTY. We want to make sure every employee is set up for success and feels a part of our overall success. We wish you best of luck in your future.

Pros

Work remote. Fantastic leaders, Definitely a place I have enjoyed working.

Cons

Pay is slightly less than competitors but work life balance and culture make up for it.

Pros

There used to be many. By the time I left all of the pros had been phased out. The only pro was allowing some people to stay remote- but if you wanted to advance in your career you would be forced back in office.

Cons

Low pay. Micromanaging. Hiring leadership from outside Paylocity and even outside of the industry. Major and extreme departmental changes rapidly. Change is a part of business but in six months my role became unrecognizable. I was there for five years and had planned to be there for much longer. This last year was terrible. Low communication from all leadership. Higher and higher expectations of employees with no bonuses or pay raises to accommodate. My regional director was forcing people out and speaking badly about employees regularly.
