Pros

I experienced decent pay growth during my time at the company, exiting at a base pay of $66,000 yearly. The company does sell a quality product which is well built with quality materials and parts. Can be an enjoyable company to work for when its doing things right

Cons

The company is very disorganized in how it operates and is a logistical nightmare, The company struggles to develop, implement, and maintain the ERP systems used to service the customers which often times leads to confusion, frustration, and delays, both internally and on the customer end of the experience. Utilizing the ERP often leaves employees feeling as though they are "trying to find a needle in a haystack" as they need to search in various places for what they are looking for. Its something the company has been trying to improve the past several years, but does not have the execution capability to get fully implemented. Communication is often problematic, strenuous and delayed, both within the domestic operation and amongst divisions abroad. Pattyn North America has the most toxic environment I've ever worked for, Inappropriate jokes/dark humor, harassment/sexual harassment, defamatory gossiping and false rumor spreading about work related and personal/outside of work topics is relatively commonplace within the organization, with management drawing very little attention to it during my employment. New employees often found themselves "thrown into the fire" because of the lack of organized training. This was often a complaint throughout multiple departments of the company. Pattyn North America has high turnover in multiple departments in regard to the duration of the learning curve, including the Parts department. Initially learning the job can be exciting, however that excitement fades as employees get deeper into the operation and discover the mismanagement, disorganization, and cyclical problems that the company management cannot alleviate. It's right around the 3-4 year mark that many employees get tired of holding their breath and start contemplating an exit route out of the company, leading to a slowly but consistently revolving door. In the past several months Pattyn North America has experienced significant turnover, including the majority of its longstanding, tenured department management. While the companies' recent acquisition may be a contributing factor in this, I am aware that Pattyn North America's upper management in some case(s) were also a contributing factor. During my time at Pattyn North America, I did experience employee burnout, and on occasion heard similar complaints from other employees as well. Such complaints included mental/physical health issues, sleeping issues, family issues, work-life balance issues, etc., because of the stresses, expectations, and lack of positive outlook incurred as a result of how the company operates both domestically and abroad. Throughout my employment at Pattyn North America, I often witnessed the dumpster overflowing with recyclable material. When I brought this to the attention of upper management, I was informed it was not financially feasible for the company to participate in recycling. A large portion of the company's waste is recyclable material. There is a lot of inefficiency and wastefulness in how Pattyn North America operates not just environmentally, but also organizationally. I did a substantial amount of purchasing, receiving, and invoicing for the company, and saw first hand how incredibly inefficient and wasteful that operation was financially. If management was paying closer attention and was more timely and assertive in solving challenges, it could easily save tremendous amounts of time and money. To get from here to there however, the things that need to happen would require upper management intervention to get things moving organizationally, which at Pattyn often feels akin to holding one's breath. New employees coming into the company at this time can expect to face many challenges, especially entering into a recently shuffled deck.

Pros

Some good people - sadly most of them are leaving.

Cons

None of the managers are capable at managing people. They are tech people who were promoted without any managerial training. Employee issues get swept under a rug, there are feuds that the entire building knows of, yet no manager handles. Morale is terrible, worse since acquired by Duravant. Top manager is useless. There is no training given.
