Pros

I found Path21 to be a firm where anyone, regardless of gender, background, etc. has the opportunity to excel as much as they are willing. Starting early in my career I was provided a vast amount of exposure to varying projects, where I was soon able to come by opportunities to be more and more client and contractor-facing. As a motivated and ambitions individual, I found the potential to take on more responsibility (being fairly compensated for such) to be plentiful. I found that both owners are supportive to each individual employees’ career goals - they see their employees’ success as their own. (Disclaimer: I am a young woman who personally found my experience at Path21, for over five years, to be professional and appropriate.)

Cons

The owners may not be able to guess your career goals and desired next steps, but if you express them, they will do all that they can to support your growth and development.

Pros

• As a current student it’s rare to find a company like Path21 Architecture and Planning that is willing to give a student a chance to work for them. Let alone provide them with a full-time position after a year and not just a summer internship, all while during the pandemic. • Pandemic was hard on a lot of architecture companies but, Path21 Architecture and Planning having a large amount of their projects within the Healthcare industry never let anyone go due to the lack of work. • Opportunity to work on vast amount of different forms of projects from Healthcare where we see projects from large to small that vary from new ground-up projects to suite/tower renovation to small room renovations. Then to Commercial projects where we also work with large and small projects from new building projects to occupancies conversions and renovations. • As a smaller firm we get to see projects all the way through and are not just doing a small portion of a single project. Talking to friends that have recently graduated that work in larger firms, they only get to see specific parts of projects and are unable to get the experience all the different aspects of the projects design and construction phases. • We are given the opportunity to successfully advance our own career. From in-house training to guest speakers, we are given the tools for success. If there is an area that we would like to see more of if that’s from pricing exercises to finishes all we have to do is ask and we are given those opportunities within upcoming projects.

Cons

• Growing pains - comes with trying to grow a business but being on the smaller end of companies sizes everyone feels it here and there. • If you are not interested in any healthcare projects or being in hospitals not the best place to work as a large amount of your time will be within hospitals.

Pros

I worked for Path21 in the last year of the pandemic. I credit them with the post grad architectural knowledge that I possess today and for giving me a chance in a hard economic time. I believe Path21 is a great firm for any person willing to work hard and wear a variety of hats. You will become a better designer and more organized. I believe both owners respectfully listen to their employees’ goals and support them with the tools necessary to grow; but in order to achieve this standard of care, you as an employee must be willing to communicate. I never had an inappropriate interaction here with either of the owners and I found that I could go to either with a majority of my concerns.

Cons

The salary comparative to the industry and cost of living in Denver is on the lower end. They do however provide employees with good benefits and resources to offset some of this.
